On Love and Acceptance
March 16, 2008 by edzguanko
When you love someone, you accept that person for everything that he is… the good and the bad. Especially if the bad part was already buried in his past. He was honest with you and even if it’s painful you have to accept the man that he was. It is part of the man he had become. That is the only way you can truly love him. After he trusted you with his secrets, you have no right to feel angry or betrayed. What he did, he did all that before he had met you, before he even knew you exist. You have no right to show contempt. He trusted you. And it’s not like you don’t have secrets, too. Secrets he accepted wholeheartedly.
So stop feeling sad whenever you remember his past. What’s important is here and now. What he is now, and what he is when he’s with you, that’s what you need to remember. You may not be able to accept everything about him, but you must love him enough so that you can push the ugly, stupid thoughts out of your mind. You must love him enough so that you would see that his past isn’t worth anything. It’s all behind him.
And you should put it behind you, too.
