Swimming with the Sharks

Not me, silly. I was scared to death when we went snorkeling, and I would never consider diving. It’s just that, I was having coffee this morning and watching TV when I saw this nature show hosted by Miguel Zubiri and JC Castro. They were in an island hoping to see sea snakes and sharks. Beats me why they’d go seeking those creatures out, and they were so happy when they saw about four or five sharks swimming so close to them. Maybe they’re right, that sharks are more afraid of us than we are of them. Still, they are scary. And the sea snakes swim pretty fast, too. They said that if it bit you, you’re lucky if you last eight hours.
Anyway, I couldn’t help but remember D. I bumped into him near where I live and although I knew he lives close by, we never really ran into each other. So I almost had a heart attack, and after he left, I had to hold onto the banister because my knees felt weak. We greeted each other casually enough (yes, I was able to hold it together), and I guess, there’s really no reason for me to expect anything more than that. We aren’t even friends. There were times when we tried to go out but our respective busy lives prevented it, and the fact that he didn’t try to ask me out again might be an indication that he’s just not interested anymore.
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. And seeing him again was really a nice surprise. It was one of those sunny moments I rarely have these days.
