The Essence of Me

I’m free.

I know this is long overdue. Several times I thought it was over, only to go back to square one. But now, it’s for real. I’m finally free. Free of any romantic emotional attachment. Unbelievable, isn’t it?

I’ve been  searching my heart these past few months and found … nothing. I am grateful and relieved that the years of pining is now over, but, I also find this freedom a little disconcerting. I guess this is what happens when you get used to feeling a certain way for someone for a long time. 

I feel a little empty, but truly glad …  and ready for a new chapter in my life.
